Course of AWS EC2: Your First Deploy

Throughout the course, we will gradually look at the different steps necessary to set up our first server in the Amazon Web Services cloud.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Understand what regions and Availability Zones are in Amazon.
• Set up different environments in isolation to test in a staging environment before going to production.
• Manage SSH keys to administer the servers.
• Use security groups to decide who can and cannot access our machines.
• Choose the type of EC2 instance that best suits your application.
• Create AMIs with everything needed for your application to run.
• Make a simple deployment of a NodeJS application.
• Have your domain pointing to your EC2 server.
• Once all this is ready, you can jump to the AWS Auto Scaling Applications course to scale your new server automatically.
• We also recommend taking advantage of your subscription to take the course of Docker: From 0 to deployment where you will see how to end up deploying your containers on your shiny EC2 machines that you have set up.
