Course of Best Practices with CSS: Layouts

Núria SorianoRafa Gómez

By Núria Soriano y Rafa Gómez Methodologies and good practices y Frontend

Master CSS layouts to create sites with a maintainable and scalable structure.

When working with CSS, we tend to apply overly rigid styles that make it difficult to create responsive layouts, increasing the need for media queries and creating complex, hard-to-maintain, and non-reusable code.

Even if we use libraries like Tailwind, Bootstrap, or Material, having a good foundation will help us solve problems and detect whether they are truly necessary for our use case or not.

In this course, we will see real examples of responsive layouts using different methods and use patterns that will simplify our code, making it more flexible.

With this course you will learn to:

  • Create maintainable and reusable layouts
  • When to use each type of unit (em, rem, ch, vw…)
  • Create responsive layouts with grid and flex without the need for media queries
  • When to use grid, flex, or other layout methods
  • Solve common problems related to position and z-index
