Learn how to manage your logs with Grafana and Loki, best practices, and how it differs from the ELK stack

💸 First lesson available without registration!

Possibly logs are the piece of observability that takes the most time in our lives. However, as systems evolve, new use cases arise that generate new needs even in primitive aspects like logging. And with that, new tools. In this case, we are going to dive into the Grafana ecosystem and more specifically into Loki, the open-source log aggregation system inspired by Prometheus.

What we will see in this course:

  • 👭🏻 What are the differences between Grafana Loki and the ELK stack
  • 🏠 What is Loki's architecture and what peculiarities it has
  • ✏️ How to send our logs to Grafana, whether through files, via HTTP requests, or using some of the available plugins (Logstash, Docker, etc)
  • 🔍 What LogQL looks like and how we can use this query language to extract all the juice from our logs
  • 📊 How to configure beautiful and useful panels and dashboards in Grafana based on Loki logs
  • 🔔 What types of alerts we can configure for Loki to notify us when something bad happens in our logs (such as credential leaks 🙈)
  • ✅ What are the best practices when using Loki and managing logs in general

Even if you have never worked with ELK, Grafana, and/or Prometheus before, you should be able to follow the course perfectly. However, if you have previously completed (or want to complete) the courses on ELK+Beats, Prometheus and/or Grafana+Prometheus, all that learning will be beneficial for this course and will provide a solid foundation.
