Hey!

Summary of this email:

  • Discussion on how to do clean transactions (+ published on Codely Pro)
  • Talk on how to measure productivity in development teams (+ published on Codely Pro)

⏱️ Estimated reading time: Next to nothing.

🤝 How to do clean transactions

A few months ago we published a course on how to model transactions since we noticed it's a really interesting topic that we usually don't pay enough attention to.

On the other hand, every month the folks from Audiense, Genially, and Codely get together to share knowledge, and Moisés Rodríguez suggested talking about transactions, so it was perfect timing.

We had an interesting discussion about a case of how they were going to implement them at Genially. The best part is that we recorded that discussion and just published it.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 😊

🔬 How to measure productivity in development teams

In one of these sessions, Alfredo Artiles, CTO at Audiense, gave a talk on how to measure productivity in development teams.

The talk dives into the complexity of measuring productivity and effectiveness in development teams, looking at the danger of reducing reality to simple metrics and falling into Goodhart's Law, where a metric becomes the goal and loses its real value.

A very interesting talk that really makes you think, and which we've also just published.

We had a blast in these sessions and we hope you enjoy them just as much. 🙌

And since you've made it this far into the newsletter, here's the joke of the week, which I know you've been waiting for:

> Why do programmers prefer dark mode? - Because light attracts bugs! 😂 😂 😂

See you around!
