It took me 40 years to learn this

For a long time I thought giving feedback was about expressing the truth in a clear and honest way.

Don't get me wrong, honesty is still important to me, as much as ever. But the way I give feedback changed drastically.

I wasn't the kind of person who avoided giving feedback. I was the kind that made you not want to hear my feedback anymore.

And look, I was never one to insult, shout, or be rude. I was always very polite.

I simply didn't realize the impact my words had. I wasn't aware.

And I didn't know how to do it better either.

Luckily for me (and for you) there's nothing magical about what I discovered.

I learned that feedback isn't about "telling the truth." It's about expressing how something affects me, without making the other person feel like they're being judged.

Small change. Huge difference.

It's something you can learn. And I did.

When I taught it to Javi (from Codely) he must have seen value in it, because some time later he suggested we create something together.

And that's exactly what ManagerPro is: a place where we teach the knowledge and techniques we wish every manager had.

  • How to give feedback (without creating conflicts, understanding how and when)
  • How to resolve conflicts when they've already escalated
  • One-on-ones that build real connection and commitment
  • What to do about underperformance
  • How to take your first steps when you get promoted to Manager
  • How to make better decisions when you're under pressure and short on time

And other skills, concepts, and techniques that you don't learn by osmosis when you get promoted.

If you're interested, you can find all the information here: https://www.managerpro.team/

Talk soon, José Carlos

P.S.: This week ManagerPro also has a €100 Black Friday discount, in case you were considering taking the leap.
