Hey there!

Summary of this email:

  • Software Architecture Audit for Green Slope published on Codely Pro.
  • How we iterated on Codely's user menu (+ blog post)

Estimated reading time: 1 tiny minute (another quick newsletter 🐢💨).

⛳ Software Architecture Audit for Green Slope

We've just published a type of content that's one of our favorites to prepare: An audit session.

An audit session is a 3-hour space where Codely team members analyze and suggest improvements to your code or application approaches.

In this one, we analyze Green Slope's refactoring process — a company with legacy code where dependency versions haven't been updated in 5 years, and where they've prepared 2 plans to migrate to a new architecture.

In this audit session, we review them and propose how we would approach the plan to make it a success.

You already have the first part of the session published for Codely Pro Premium. 😊

✨ How we iterated on Codely's user menu

A few months ago we faced a challenge that, on the surface, seemed straightforward: implementing a user menu for our platform.

What started as a quick implementation to get things moving turned into an iteration process where we believe we managed to bring patterns we consider industry best practices to our particular case. All step by step, with lots of teamwork, and above all enjoying the journey.

In this post we tell you about the entire process: from the first ideas to the final implementation, including the internal debates, the references we analyzed, and the decisions we made at each step.

And since you've made it this far in the newsletter, here's the joke of the week, which I know you were waiting for:

> What did the .GIF say to the .JPEG? - Animate yourself! 😂

Cheers!
