Hey there!

Summary of this email:

  • The importance of Software Architecture (+ final part of the Green Slope Audit)
  • 6th edition of the AI for Programming Workshop now open!

Estimated reading time: 1 delightful minute.

🏗️ The importance of Software Architecture

Software Architecture is more important right now than ever.

It's what ensures our code can scale. Both in terms of requests and in terms of people (and agents) working in parallel.

Code with a poor foundation makes delivering new features harder.

That's what's happening to Green Slope, a company that manages golf tournaments. That's why they've created 2 refactoring plans to get out of their legacy codebase.

And they asked us to audit them. So that's what we did.

We've just published the second part of their audit, where we analyze at a macro-design level how to modernize an application:

  • Sharing their code
  • Analyzing (and discarding) alternatives like GraphQL
  • Step by step

You can go take the course from here.

✨ 6th edition of the AI for Programming Workshop!

AI is like dogs: 1 year in AI time is like 10 in ours.

This week:

  • Cursor 2.0 has been launched: With a redesign, its own model, and the ability to run the same task with different models in parallel.
  • Claude Code has added a sub-agent for better planning.
  • The EU has launched EuroLLM, an AI supporting all official EU languages.
  • And a whole lot more.

And it's a real hassle to keep paying attention to all these updates. That was one of the reasons we wanted to create the AI Workshop: so you can disconnect from all this noise and let us do the fighting to figure out the best way to leverage AI for programming.

We've already run several public and corporate editions, and with each one we iterate to keep adding all the latest developments.

We've already sold out the 5th edition and we've decided to open a 6th one for January 20th. That way you can disconnect from AI this year and make it your New Year's resolution. 😊

You can find more information about the workshop here. We've put a lot of care and effort into it — we hope you like it.

And since you've made it this far in the newsletter, here's the joke of the week, which I know you were waiting for:

> - I was going to tell you a joke about GIT... but you keep branching off! 😂 😂 😂

Cheers!
